Train your AI to reply the way you do

Your customers know how you talk. When the assistant answers for you, it should sound like you typed it — your Pidgin or your English, your “pls” and “abeg”, your emoji, the way you quote a price. This guide shows you how to teach it, in about five minutes.

What the assistant actually learns

It does not copy your messages word for word. It measures how you write and then matches those habits when it replies:

Only your own messages are used. Your customers’ messages are never learned from — in a chat export they are filtered out before anything is saved. You can delete everything you have uploaded at any time with Clear samples.

Where to do it

Log in to your dashboard and open Settings AI Agent Your voice. The status line at the top tells you where you stand — how many samples you have and whether your voice has been measured yet.

The assistant needs at least 10 of your replies to start. 30 to 50 is where it gets really good. There are two ways to give them.

Option 1 — Paste your replies

Fastest if you have a few chats open. Copy your own messages from WhatsApp, Instagram or wherever you sell, and paste them into the box — one reply per line.

na 50k for the sneakers pls send ur size and ur address delivery to lekki na 4k, island 2.5k e go reach u tomorrow 🙏 good morning ma, e still dey available thanks for patronizing 🙏🙏

Then tap Add replies. Tips for good samples:

Option 2 — Upload a WhatsApp chat export

Best if you sell mostly on WhatsApp. One export from a busy customer chat can give the assistant a hundred of your replies at once.

On Android

  1. Open the chat with a customer you have talked to a lot.
  2. Tap (the three dots, top right).
  3. Tap More, then Export chat.
  4. Choose Without media.
  5. Send the file to yourself — Gmail, Google Drive, or Telegram “Saved Messages” all work.
  6. Open it on the device you use for the dashboard and save the .txt file.

On iPhone

  1. Open the chat with a customer you have talked to a lot.
  2. Tap the customer’s name at the top of the screen.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Export Chat.
  4. Choose Without Media.
  5. Tap Save to Files (or AirDrop / email it to yourself).
  6. You now have a .txt file ready to upload.

The steps are the same in WhatsApp Business.

Back in the dashboard, tap Upload WhatsApp export (.txt) and choose the file. Because a chat has two (or more) people in it, you will be asked “Which one is you?” — pick your own name from the list. Only that person’s messages are kept; the customer’s are thrown away.

Choose “Without media”. With media, WhatsApp gives you a .zip full of photos, which the dashboard cannot read. You only need the .txt. Files must be under 5 MB — one chat is always well under that.

Two or three exports from different customers give a better picture than one enormous chat, because you talk about more things.

Option 3 — Bring chats from Telegram, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or LinkedIn

Every platform you sell on lets you download your own messages. Upload the file the same way — the dashboard recognises the format and asks which name in it is you. Only your messages are kept.

  1. Telegram — on Telegram Desktop, open the chat → Export chat history → untick photos/videos → format JSON → upload result.json. For every chat at once: Settings → Advanced → Export Telegram data.
  2. Instagram — Accounts Centre → Your information and permissionsDownload your information → choose Messages → format JSON. When it arrives, open messages/inbox/<customer>/ and upload message_1.json.
  3. Facebook (Messenger) — the same Download your information flow → MessagesJSON → upload a message_1.json from messages/inbox.
  4. TikTok — Profile → → Settings and privacy → Account → Download your data → format JSON → upload user_data.json; your direct messages are inside it.
  5. LinkedIn — Settings → Data privacy → Get a copy of your data → tick Messages → upload messages.csv.

Instagram and Facebook downloads sometimes garble emoji and the ₦ sign — the dashboard repairs that automatically. Files must be under 8 MB; one customer chat is always well under that, and chats from several customers give a better picture than one long one.
